In case you’ve been too busy enjoying the holidays to notice, I’m here to let you know that we’re up to a whopping chapter 8 of The Thickening. (Don’t miss chapters 6 and 7, too.)

Also, there’s still a few glitches in the site, namely broken links. Gnome is a decent designer and a pretty good lawn ornament, but an amateur programmer, so these things are bound to happen. We’ve had a few helpful readers point out some of the errors of our ways - thanks guys! - but there’s probably a few more lurking around. Lastly, feel free to leave us comments. But as a warning, we’ve got spam bot issues, so comments are heavily moderated at the moment. We’re not ignoring you, we promise.

There’s been two squee-worthy moments that have proved to me that (a) shit, I can actually write and should probably do that for a living  and (b) good fanfic never dies. The first squee-worthy moment was on ‘Defamer Australia’. Now I read Defamer every day and to find your work featured rather randomly is both humbling and entirely too weird. Oddly I’d never saved the link and on finding it again I was surprised by the nice comments. I was expecting to be torn apart! The second squee-worthy moment is that I discovered people talking about the Fondue on the GNW messageboards. I generally avoid messageboards but when I saw the ‘fanfic’ thread I thought, ‘hmm I wonder…’ and the responses blew me away! http://forums.ten.com.au/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=117242&start=0&tstart=0

So thank you, thank you, thank you for the positive feedback. Yeah I know fanfic is silly but when I’m not working and studying its a wonderful outlet and y’know there’s some perverse pleasure in having Paul McDermott kidnapped in a ridiculous manner by some idiotic felon…

…except in the latest installment of course since it’s all domestic stuff which is so much harder to write.
